Rapturous sound of
birds greeting the day, I wait
in expectation
Rapturous sound of
birds greeting the day, I wait
in expectation
A woman dresses
kisses her sleeping partner,
heads to the frontline
Twenty twenty one
Dawn breaks to a soft grey sky
A world in waiting
a pigeon sitting
hunched on a bare winter branch
wet feathers, warm heart
Through my lounge window
I see people walking by
Masked, they nod and wave
feet in a basin
fish devour her calloused skin
selfish cruel act
Feet in a cool stream
A fish nibbles at my toes
Happy summer day
the brilliance of
golden leaves, dark thunderous
skies, my eyes squinting
I dream so I write ..
