a managed laptop
not fully built, abandoned
user, pounding heart
in such a grey spring
it’s hard to recall sunshine
the darkest of years
on branches still bare
wood pigeons roost above
busy nesting wrens
a congregation
all species of birds commune
in flutter and chirp
two stir crazy cats
look out on a rainy day
happy dog splashing
a very wet day
the noise of rain on perspex
roof, so distracting
rain hammering down
postman banging on the door
a wet cheery smile
the sound of traffic
after months of peacefulness
birds shout out their song
children returning
to school, many feet sploshing
through happy puddles
crocuses, purple
white and gold circle a
silver birch, sublime
I dream so I write ..
