a crab in a rock pool
tiny tremulous creatures
await the next tide
a crab in a rock pool
tiny tremulous creatures
await the next tide
dolphins delight us
dive under our bows then leap
sleek bodies, sea spray
retreating tide leaves
a pattern of scattered shells,
sounds of settling sand
a boat on the sand
hauled ashore barnacle clad
scraping and singing
light touch on my arm
a hand seeking fingertips
a heart skips a beat
reading and writing
about love, where words evoke
the feeling itself
a chance encounter
a supermarket carpark
diminishing odds
talking to a friend
grinding along every day
uncertain future
the full moon rising
rosy faced from sun’s last kiss
a curtain of clouds
desire burning hot
sleep slips into wakefulness
dreams sliding away
I dream so I write ..
