the happiest days
when young and the future seemed
less scary than now
the happiest days
when young and the future seemed
less scary than now
glorious colours
rising sun, yellow on blue
defiant birdsong
what use are tears now
watching from the wings how tight
the screws, but still. Shame.
a man hugs his cat
his life crushed in the rubble
our useless tears fall
scrolling through channels
outside people drive to work
following routine
over the Earth’s rim
sun reveals the damage wrought
a newborn screaming
watching and waiting
while something inwardly screams
can this be human
faces etched on clouds
huddles of waiting people
watching helplessly
clinging to his perch
the tallest, thinnest of twigs
the crow’s raucous cry
at Berlin station
come home with us we have space
placards fluttering
I dream so I write ..
“Wings are an illusive notion. Some may possess them, but they are not very visible, and as for me, there isn’t the least sign of a feather.” -Amy Carmichael
