orange lights flashing
the dog rumbles a long growl
groaning bin lorry
orange lights flashing
the dog rumbles a long growl
groaning bin lorry
when sleep is troubled
with fractured dreams the day breaks
with a crumpled face
now amidst the rain
some snowflakes fall and cling to
trees in melting drops
Some days are gritty
grinding along like an old
bicycle, old bones
the cat with its mouse
breaks into our new foodstore
deposits it there
how convenient
they cannot hear our anguished
screams or choking sobs
a managed laptop
not fully built, abandoned
user, pounding heart
in such a grey spring
it’s hard to recall sunshine
the darkest of years
on branches still bare
wood pigeons roost above
busy nesting wrens
a congregation
all species of birds commune
in flutter and chirp
I dream so I write ..
